What We Write

Business Insurance

Business Insurance

Property, liability, auto, and umbrella for Wisconsin employers. We compare carriers side by side and show you where the coverage differs, not just where the price does.

Rental Property Insurance

Real Estate

If a rental sits empty 60 consecutive days, most commercial property policies cut or deny the claim. We write coverage for landlords, flips, Airbnb hosts and buildings between tenants.

Electrical Line Repair

Workers Compensation

Wisconsin requires coverage at three employees, or at one employee paid $500 or more in a calendar quarter. We handle class codes, audits, and experience mod review.

Family Walking Beach

Life and Disability

Personal life, disability income, and buy sell funding. Employer owned policies need signed employee notice and consent before issuance, or the death benefit becomes taxable.

Home & Auto Insurance

Home and Auto

Homeowners, renters, condo, and auto. We quote every carrier at the same limits and the same deductible, so the only thing that changes between quotes is price.

Boat Insurance

Boat and Specialty

Most homeowners policies cover a boat, trailer, and motor up to $1,500 total. Boats, motorcycles, ATVs, snowmobiles, jewelry, and firearms need a separate policy or a schedule.

Who We Are Built For

Our deepest specialties are Wisconsin contractors, especially excavation, utility and fiber crews who live and die by certificate turnaround; real estate investors with rental portfolios, active flips and short term rentals; restaurants and taverns, where liquor liability is a separate policy and assault and battery is commonly excluded; and manufacturers, where a single machine you cannot quickly replace is the whole business interruption question. If you are not sure you are big enough or complicated enough to need us, you are.

Why Work With An Independent Agency?

Independent means we are not owned by an insurance company. We represent dozens of carriers, and at every renewal we can move your account to whichever one prices your risk best that year. A captive agent has one carrier's appetite to work with. When that carrier decides it no longer wants your class of business, or files a twenty percent increase, the choice is to take it or start over with a new agent.

Do I Need Workers Compensation Insurance In Wisconsin?

You need workers compensation in Wisconsin the day you hire your third employee, full time or part time. The threshold drops to one employee if you pay five hundred dollars or more in gross combined wages in any calendar quarter, and coverage is due by the tenth day of the first month of the next quarter. Part time workers count. Independent contractors are not automatically exempt.

Can You Write Coverage Outside Wisconsin?

Yes. MM Insurance Associates currently serves clients across 24 states, so we can follow clients who operate across state lines, buy property in another state, or expand out of the Milwaukee metro. Our office is at 15885 W National Ave, Suite 300, New Berlin, WI 53151, and most of our commercial book is in southeast Wisconsin, but the license footprint is not the limit.

What Do You Need From Me To Quote My Business?

Send your current policies, or the declarations pages if that is all you have, plus your payroll by job type and your last three to five years of loss runs. That is enough to go to market. If you do not have loss runs, we can request them from your carrier. Fill out the Business Onboarding form or call/text the office at (262) 754-4736.

How Does An Independent Agent Quote My Insurance?

MM Insurance Associates represents dozens of carriers instead of one. When we quote your business, we send the same submission to several markets and compare what comes back on coverage, not just price. At renewal, if your carrier takes an increase you did not earn, we can move the account without you starting over with a new agent.

What We Cannot Do

We cannot get you a better price on the same risk at the same carrier. We cannot add coverage retroactively after something has already happened. We cannot advise you on entity structure, title or taxes, because that is your attorney and your CPA. And we will tell you when your current program is already right and you should stay where you are, which happens more often than you would expect.

Start With A Conversation

We start by asking what you actually do, then we go to market. Fill out a proposal form and we will come back to you with questions before we quote anything. Or call or text (262) 754-4736.
